Undetonated civil war bomb found in Enugu

ENUGU—FORTY-SEVEN years after the Nigeria/Biafra war ended, an explosive suspected to be a civil war bomb was yesterday, discovered in Enugu State.


However, the Police Explosive Ordinance Unit in Enugu said it successfully evacuated the bomb.

Police spokesperson in the state, Ebere Amaraizu, said the  undetonated object was used during the civil war.

The object, which was found at a farmland in Amaetiti, Oji River Local Government Area of the state was said to have been discovered on the ground during farming, which expert analyses indicated  was a left over of civil war bomb.

Amaraizu  said: “It was not detonated and was of a high calibre.”
